Biography

Dr. Ahreum Kim was born in South Korea and raised in Connecticut in the US. She studied anthropology as an undergraduate because of her interest in culture and people, and she continued to apply her sociocultural interests when doing ministry in Korea and studying the New Testament at the University of Cambridge in the UK. Some of her publications include her published dissertation, The Countercultural Victory of 1 John in Greco-Roman Context (Bloomsbury, 2023) and editing for Morna D. Hooker’s essay compilation Old and New: Essays on Continuity and Discontinuity in the New Testament (Mohr Siebeck, 2024). She also recently completed a monograph on The Fear, Faith, and Boldness of Peter, James, and John, which is forthcoming with IVP Academic.
