Mentor Program Coordinator

FTE 0.125 Volunteer (approx. 5 hrs/wk)

Work-study (5 hrs/wk @$12.50/hr = $1,250/semester)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This person will be the primary point person for our existing and future Mentor Program, which exists to assist, strengthen, and serve our student body. This person will maintain and further develop the mentor and mentee relationships. This is a remote position, and can be done from anywhere (provided the time zone differences don’t prohibit regular workday interactions in a primarily North American context).

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

  • Counseling or coaching experience preferred.
  • Highly relational
  • Organization skills (database management)
  • Communication skills (interpersonal, written word, email, phone calls)
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite of products (Docs, sheets, drive, classroom, sites, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Zoom software

DUTIES

  • Oversee the establishment of new mentor/mentee relationships at the beginning of each semester
  • Oversee the collection of signed handbooks and return to the Director of Student Services
  • Maintain the relationships between the mentor and mentee
  • Check on the mentors and mentees at least once a month
  • Provide tips and best practices for mentors in helping their mentees
  • Report to the Director of Student Services on how each mentor relationship is going and if any adjustments should be made
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS OR PREFERENCES

  • Must have a high school diploma
  • College Degree preferred 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS OR PREFERENCES

  • Active, growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Active participation in a local church
  • Counseling or coaching experience preferred
  • This is a remote position. Must be able to provide your own computer and workspace sufficient to see the demands of the job can be met. An institutional email account will be provided.
  • Must be able to provide your own phone for work use purposes.

  • Reports to: Director of Student Services
