Biography
Eric L. Lopez earned his B.A. in Biblical Studies from Life Pacific College, an M.A. in Theological Studies from George Fox Evangelical Seminary (Portland Seminary) and his Ph.D. in Theology & Religion from Durham University located in Durham, United Kingdom where he and his family lived for nearly three years. As Foursquare ministers, he and his wife, Tara, co-pastored young adults and served as senior pastors for several years in addition to serving in a variety of capacities in music ministry, as guest speakers, and as small group leaders. Dr. Lopez has taught at Life Pacific University (LPU), George Fox Evangelical Seminary, Multnomah University, and Fuller Theological Seminary and formerly served as the Director of the Online Master of Arts in Theological Studies at LPU. He has presented papers at national and international academic conferences and specializes in the Trinitarian thought of Maximus the Confessor and historical theology with research interests in the post-Chalcedonian era, Trinitarian theology, and Pentecostal traditioning. He enjoys playing soccer, guitar/bass and spending time with family.
